Please look over the different choices we need Volunteers to fill.
Be A Friend Day: The third Saturday of every month. This is when members meet at a specific location and are assigned to one volunteer who can help them for three hours, with such things as running errands, reading mail to the blind, shopping or going to a movie, etc.
Trips: On the first Saturday of every month we will have a trip to a different place. If you want to volunteer you must have the first Saturday of every month free. You will have to travel to different locations so please take that into consideration.
On call : This is for an individual who is available when we call and need you, you do not have to accept any assignment but once you do it is a firm commitment .
Be a Buddy: This is a commitment for three hours one day a week to meet and spend time doing something fun with a disabled person. For example going to the movies, shopping, sitting in the park etc. The disabled person decides what they want to do. You may also be required to read to the blind, and help with such things as paying bills, reading mail or writing letters. You must be able to read whatever the person needs within reason.
Action Line: This is a commitment to answer the phone from your home for three hours one day a week. Two shifts are available. We will teach you what you need to know to answer the phone. You will be helping disabled people with their problems.
Clerical Work: This is to help out with emails, advertising and mailings for the organization.
